Boiler installation in Naples: new system, relocation and condensing
Fitting a boiler where there was none, moving it to another spot in the home, or going from an old open-flue boiler to a condensing one are different jobs from a simple replacement: they change the flue and the condensate drain, often the gas pipe too. In the Naples area the market runs from 450 to 2,500 € depending on the work, and we set the exact price after a site survey.
Quote before we start about 6 hoursAfter a site visit: removal, new boiler, declaration of conformity

Installing or moving a boiler means working on the gas system and the flue. Only a qualified firm may do it, and at the end it issues the declaration of conformity: be wary of anyone who offers to do without it. A wrong flue can let carbon monoxide back into the home, which you can neither see nor smell.
Recognise the problem
- You bought a home with no boiler, or only a water heater
- You want to move the boiler from the kitchen to the balcony or a utility room
- The old boiler is open-flue and takes its air from the room
- You are renovating and want to redo the gas and heating systems
- The administrator asks you to bring the flue outlet into line
The most common causes
- 1
First installation
In a home without a boiler, gas, cold water and the pipes to radiators and taps must be brought in. The installation point is chosen starting from where the flue gases can lawfully exit.
- 2
Moving the boiler
Moving it means lengthening or redoing the gas and water connections and rethinking the flue. Not every spot will do: nearby windows, the type of boiler and the condominium rules all matter.
- 3
From open-flue to condensing
Old open-flue boilers burn the air of the room and send hot gases up the flue by natural draught. A condensing boiler pushes cooler, damp gases out with a fan: the old flue usually has to be lined with a suitable duct, or a new outlet is needed.
- 4
Condensate disposal
In condensing operation the vapour in the flue gases turns back to water, slightly acidic, which has to end up in the home's drain network. If the nearest sink or drain is far away, a dedicated pipe must be laid.
What you can safely check yourself
- Photograph the gas meter and the route of the pipe to the kitchen.
- Photograph the spot where you would like the boiler, with the windows and openings around it.
- If there is already a boiler, photograph the data plate and the flue pipe up to where it exits outside.
- Ask the administrator whether the building has a shared flue and what the rules say about facade outlets.
Never open the boiler or the gas water heater, and always switch off the power before touching an electrical appliance. If in doubt, call us.
When you need a technician at home
- To confirm the price: the survey measures the gas, water and flue routes
- The boiler goes in a new spot and gas has to reach it
- The existing flue must be inspected or lined
- There is no drain for the condensate nearby
- At the end of the job, for the first lighting and the system booklet

Installation or replacement: what changes
When the new boiler goes exactly where the old one was, with suitable outlets already in place, it is called a replacement and is the simplest job. This page covers the cases where something has to be built: a system that did not exist, a boiler to move, a flue to redo.
Here the appliance weighs less than usual in the total: what counts are the metres of gas pipe, the flue route, the condensate drain and the building work. That is why the market range is so wide.
The quote separates boiler, labour, materials and extra works, so you can compare it with others for the same job. The final figure comes after the survey, before we start.
Switching from open-flue to condensing
Since 2015 European efficiency rules allow, with few exceptions, only condensing boilers to be installed. Anyone who still has an open-flue boiler almost always has to rethink the flue when replacing it.
A masonry flue, designed for very hot gases, does not withstand the moisture of condensing operation: usually a suitable plastic duct is threaded inside it, or a new outlet is made. If the flue is shared by several flats, the solution is also decided with the condominium.
Then there is the condensate to dispose of, and here the boiler's position matters: near a sink the connection is short, far away you need a dedicated pipe with the right slope.
Documents, first lighting and system booklet
At the end of the job we issue the declaration of conformity under DM 37/2008, with the system diagram and the list of materials. It is signed by Air Tecnology Impianti di Pezone Mauro, qualified for heating (letter C) and gas (letter E).
We also complete the system booklet (libretto di impianto), the document that accompanies the boiler throughout its life and in which maintenance and checks are recorded. For gas boilers between 10 and 35 kW the first flue gas check with the boiler inspection sticker (bollino) comes 4 years after the first lighting.
For many brands the manufacturer's warranty is only activated if the first lighting is done by its own service centre, and we are not one for any brand. Before you choose the model we check the conditions together, so you know who to ask and do not lose the warranty.
Want to know what it is first? Show us
On a video call you show us the spot where you would like the boiler, the gas meter, the old flue and the nearby windows. That tells us at once whether the idea is feasible and what work is needed, and we give you a rough quote. Measurements and the final price come with the survey at your home.
Video consultation, up to 15 minutes: €9.90 (€14.90 on Sundays), deducted from the bill if we then come to your home.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to install a new boiler in Naples?
On the Naples market installation runs from about 450 to 2,500 €. At the low end are simple jobs, at the high end first installations, relocations and new flues. We give you the final price after the survey; if you want an idea beforehand, we can also set it up remotely.
Can I put the boiler on the balcony?
Often yes, with a model suited to outdoors or protected by a cabinet, and with the flue outlet to regulations. The condominium rules and the distance from windows and openings also matter: we check it at the survey.
Can I keep the old flue?
It depends how it is built and who else uses it. With a condensing boiler it almost always has to be lined or replaced, because damp gases ruin flues designed for hot gases.
Is the declaration of conformity compulsory?
Yes, for every new installation or change to the gas and heating system the qualified firm must issue it at the end of the work. You need it for inspections, for any tax incentives and when you sell or let the home.
