Even on a Sunday, a smell of gas is a case for the distributor. Leave switches, lights, appliances and any flame alone, open doors and windows and, only if you can reach it easily and without danger, close the gas at the meter. Then, from outside the home, call the toll-free gas emergency number on your bill (for Italgas 800 900 999, free 24 hours a day) or 112. If water reaches sockets or appliances, switch off the main safety switch while staying dry.

What you can safely check yourself
- Before calling, ask yourself whether the fault can be isolated: a closed valve under the fixture is often enough until Monday.
- For the boiler, check pressure and error code and try a single reset.
- With a blocked kitchen sink, stop pouring water in and leave chemical drain cleaners alone: they make the technician's job longer and riskier.
- If the toilet cistern keeps filling, close its isolation valve and reopen it only when you need to flush.
- Have photos ready of the fault and of the appliance's data plate.
Never open the boiler or the gas water heater, and always switch off the power before touching an electrical appliance. If in doubt, call us.

What to do right away and what can wait until Monday
On a Sunday the right question is one: if I wait until tomorrow, does the damage grow? If the answer is yes, because water is escaping, the house is freezing or the only toilet is blocked, call and we do the holiday visit.
If instead the fault is stable, such as a dripping tap, a slow drain that still empties or a single cold radiator, you can wait for the first working day. On the phone we tell you honestly, even if it means giving up the call-out.
For jobs that can wait you can book online: you choose the day and time, the visit goes into the diary with the right duration and you pay no holiday surcharge.
How the holiday surcharge works
On Sundays and public holidays we work at a higher rate, both at your home and on video. The surcharge is small and you know it in advance: we tell you on the phone, together with the call-out cost, before the technician sets off.
The further you live from our base in Parete, the more the call-out weighs: little in nearby towns, more towards Salerno, Avellino or Benevento. For the repair, the price comes at your home, once the technician has seen the fault, always before touching the system.
On holidays the work is the same as on other days: a qualified technician, the price given first, the declaration of conformity when the job requires it.
